How many times have we heard, or read, this sentence, I am the first to be against the system, but I like to analyze the facts in depth and not with the classic basic approach that is so fashionable on social networks.
No, electric bikes don’t cost like a motorbike!
In general, electric bicycles are typically less expensive than motorcycles. The cost of an electric bike can vary significantly based on the specific features and technology used, but they tend to be less expensive than motorcycles, which can range in price from several hundred to several thousand pounds.
There are, however, some high-end electric bikes that may cost as much as or more than some lower-priced motorcycles. It’s worth noting that the ongoing operating costs of an electric bike, such as charging the battery and maintaining the motor and other components, are generally lower than those of a motorcycle, which may require more frequent maintenance and use more expensive fuels.
Overall, the cost of an electric bike or motorcycle will depend on a variety of factors, including the specific model, features, and brand. It’s worth comparing the costs and considering which option best fits your needs and budget.
So, why do electric bikes cost so much?
There are a few reasons why electric bikes can be more expensive than traditional bikes:
-
- Technology: Electric bikes use a battery and a motor to assist with pedalling, which adds to the overall cost of the bike. The technology used in the motor and battery can also affect the price.
- Materials: Electric bikes may use more expensive materials in their construction, such as lightweight aluminium or carbon fibre frames, which can drive up the cost.
- Brand: Like with any product, the brand of the electric bike can also impact the price. Some brands are known for their high-quality and may command a higher price point.
- Features: Electric bikes may come with a range of features, such as multiple levels of assist, hydraulic disc brakes, and full suspension, which can also add to the cost.

The high range is just a showcase
Who wouldn’t want to have a top-of-the-range Mtb and/or road bike?
The most expensive models are always the most desired because whoever produces them knows how to make them so desirable.
However, to those who can’t afford them, I would like to say a couple of things: no regrets, no “I wish but I can’t” frustration because high-end is also a showcase, a call, a way for that brand to say “that’s what we’re capable of” but if you go one or two models below the quality/price ratio it very often improves.
In our e-commerce we sell electric bicycles of the highest level of performance at very reasonable prices, it is not necessarily necessary to buy the super brand electric bike used by the MTB champion to enjoy the pleasure of a nice outing on an electric bike.
Very often the TOP of the range bikes are well above our driving skills and/or athletic abilities.
So why spend so much more?
